The Simple Joys

Gill and I decided to get a bird feeder.  I didn’t expect it to get a lot of visitors, but was pleasantly surprised to find that it did.  We’ve had house finches and chickadees drop by.  The finches tend to come in mated pairs (males are red chested while females just brown).

Where the feeder originally was.

Unfortunately, because the birds spill so much of the seed, we were asked to take the feeder down.  The landlord was afraid of it attracting rats and mice, and understandably so.  However, I hoped that maybe bringing the bird feeder inside might still attract some cautious visitors.  And it did.

And then they got braver.

The only problem with them coming inside is they have little idea how to get back out.  Let’s just say that bumping into windows is fairly common with these guys.  But maybe they’ll learn… though I have little hope for the chickadees… they are cute as hell but dumb as dirt.

It's a window, stupid! You're two inches away from it.
