Truth in Advertising – It’s the Law

Get this!  Over here in England they’ve just made it a law that theatres are NOT allowed to use only the best parts of unfavorable reviews on their advertisements.

You know the kind of thing they mean, where a review from Joe Reviewer might say, “If you thought this show would be hilarious, you’d be sorely mistaken!” and the show puts out a poster that has the quote: “Hilarious!” – Joe Reviewer.   Well, they used to be able to get away with that, now it’s a fine and possible 2 year jail sentence.

I hope this extends into the world of movie making as well, not just stage plays.
